But somewhere along the way, that code — once born out of necessity and survival — stopped protecting us. It stopped being a shield against racist systems and started becoming a shackle around our necks. Today, “no snitching” isn’t just a slogan — it’s a sickness. One that silences witnesses, shields predators, and keeps our communities trapped in cycles of violence and fear.

This is the uncomfortable truth: the code has changed, and so must we.

 From Survival to Solidarity: How “No Snitching” Was Born

To understand why “no snitching” holds such power, we have to rewind the tape — back to the 1950s and 60s, when the first waves of Caribbean migrants arrived in the UK. Both hold truth. But here’s the issue: the code no longer distinguishes between those in the game and those outside it. Everyone’s bound by silence now — and that’s where the damage multiplies.

The old definition (street logic):
A snitch is anyone who talks to police or authorities about a crime, regardless of their involvement.

The new definition (real logic):
A snitch is someone who participates in criminal activity and then betrays their partners to save themselves.

The world watched as headlines exploded with multi-million-dollar sales of pixelated apes, tweets, and generative artwork. Yet behind the glitz of the blockchain lies a harsh truth: NFTs are not just overhyped—they’ve become one of the most widespread digital scams of our time.

What Are You Really Buying?

The pitch is seductive: NFTs allow you to “own” digital items, creating scarcity and value in a space that was once infinitely duplicable. But here’s the catch—buying an NFT doesn’t mean you own the artwork, the file, or even the intellectual property. You’re purchasing a digital receipt that links to a file on someone else’s server.

If that file is deleted, moved, or altered? Your NFT points to nothing. There is no legal recourse, no real-world fallback, and no actual transfer of ownership in the traditional sense. It's a glorified hyperlink that lives on the blockchain.

The Playground of Scammers and Speculators

A large chunk of the NFT ecosystem operates on classic pump-and-dump tactics. Early insiders or creators build hype, inflate prices, and dump their holdings on latecomers once the price peaks. The result? Ordinary buyers are left with worthless tokens, while the scammers vanish with the profits.

Rug pulls have become so common they’re almost expected. Projects vanish overnight. Discord servers go dark. Promises of “future utility” evaporate. It’s digital vaporware, propped up by hype and greed.

Eco-Destruction for Nothing

Let’s not forget the environmental cost. While Ethereum's recent shift to proof-of-stake has lowered its energy use, the damage done by millions of proof-of-work transactions in the NFT gold rush is undeniable. In 2021 alone, the carbon footprint of NFT minting rivaled that of some small nations. All for what? A screenshot of a cartoon character?

The Celebrity Connection

From Logan Paul and Paris Hilton to Floyd Mayweather, celebrity involvement gave NFTs an air of legitimacy. But in many cases, their promotions were thinly veiled cash grabs—endorsing projects they either didn't understand or were paid to hype without disclosing financial ties. Many of these NFT collections have since tanked, leaving buyers out of pocket while the stars walked away richer.

Regulatory bodies like the SEC have begun cracking down on deceptive promotions, but for many, the damage is done.

The Bubble Has Burst

NFTs were marketed as empowerment for artists and a path to decentralized wealth, but the reality tells a different story. A handful of early adopters got rich. Thousands more lost money. And the supposed revolution now sits in a slump, with trading volume crashing and enthusiasm evaporating.

Let’s call it what it is: a global scam masked as innovation, preying on confusion, hype, and the human desire to be part of “the next big thing.”

In the end, NFTs didn’t democratize wealth—they concentrated it. They didn’t protect artists—they exploited them. And they didn’t create value—they manufactured illusions.

The Bible offers profound insights into how we can align our lives with God's will and experience the fullness of His kingdom. Five key scriptures—Matthew 6:33, Luke 17:21, 1 John 1:5, Matthew 6:22, and Genesis 32:30—provide a foundation for understanding how to seek God's kingdom, recognize His presence within us, live in His light, and encounter Him personally.

Seeking First the Kingdom of God

In Matthew 6:33, Jesus instructs us to "seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well." This verse emphasizes the importance of prioritizing our relationship with God above all else. When we focus on seeking His kingdom and living according to His righteousness, we can trust that God will provide for our needs. This principle encourages us to direct our efforts towards spiritual growth and alignment with God's will, rather than being consumed by the worries of daily life.

The Kingdom of God is Within You

Luke 17:21 offers a profound truth: "nor will people say, 'Here it is,' or 'There it is,' because the kingdom of God is in your midst." Jesus teaches that the kingdom of God is not a distant or external reality but is present within and among us. This understanding shifts our perspective from looking for God's kingdom in external circumstances to recognizing and cultivating it within our hearts and communities. By living in accordance with God's principles, we can experience His kingdom here and now.

Walking in the Light

1 John 1:5 declares, "This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all." This verse speaks to the purity and holiness of God. As followers of Christ, we are called to walk in the light, reflecting God's character in our lives. Living in the light involves embracing truth, righteousness, and love, and rejecting sin and darkness. When we walk in the light, we experience fellowship with God and with one another, creating a community that mirrors the purity and goodness of God.

The Eye as the Lamp of the Body

Matthew 6:22 provides an additional perspective on living in the light: "The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are healthy, your whole body will be full of light." Jesus uses the metaphor of the eye as the lamp to illustrate the importance of our focus and perspective. If our spiritual vision is clear and focused on God, our entire being will be illuminated by His light. Conversely, if our vision is clouded by sin or distractions, we will be filled with darkness. This teaching underscores the importance of maintaining a clear and focused relationship with God, allowing His light to permeate every aspect of our lives.

Encountering God Personally

Genesis 32:30 recounts a significant moment in Jacob's life: "So Jacob called the place Peniel, saying, 'It is because I saw God face to face, and yet my life was spared.'" Jacob's encounter with God at Peniel, where he wrestled with the divine, signifies a personal and transformative experience of God's presence. This encounter highlights that seeking God's kingdom and living in His light also involves a personal relationship with Him. When we encounter God personally, our lives are profoundly changed, and we gain a deeper understanding of His nature and will for us.

1. You might not have tomorrow to say, “I love you.”

About 15 years ago a coworker of mine died on the train on the way to work. During his funeral several people from the office were in tears, saying kind things like: “I loved him. We all loved him so much. He was such a wonderful person.” I started crying too, and I wondered if these people had told him that they loved him while he was alive, or whether it was only with death that this powerful word, love, had been used without question or hesitation.

I vowed to myself then and there that I would never again hesitate to speak up to the people I love and remind them of how much I appreciate them. They deserve to know they give meaning to my life. They deserve to know I think the world of them. Bottom line: If you love someone today, tell them. If you appreciate someone today, tell them. There might not be a tomorrow. Today is the day to express your love and admiration.

2. Your judgments of others are often inaccurate.

You will never know exactly what another person is going through or what their whole story is. When you believe you do, realize that your assumptions about their life are in direct relation to your own limited perspective.

Many people you believe to be successful are extremely unhappy. Many people you think have it easy have worked their tail off to achieve their status. Many people who appear to be wealthy are in debt because of their extravagant tastes for material possessions. Many people who appear to be too old and uncool were once every bit as young, hip, and inexperienced as you are right now.

3. Not trying is why most people fail in life.

It’s not the mistakes and failures you have to worry about the most, it’s the opportunities you miss when you don’t even try that hurt the worst. Trying — truly trying — always leads to some level of success, regardless of the outcome. Even mistakes and failures teach you what not to do next time. Every outcome, good or bad, is a lesson that makes you stronger and wiser over time.

So keep reminding yourself that in the end there’s only one thing that makes a goal or dream impossible to achieve: the failure to try. Because the results you achieve in life are not based on what you plan to do or what you say you’ll do. Your results come from what you actually try and do consistently!

Yes, your life will get better when YOU get better. Start investing in yourself mentally and physically. Make it a priority to learn and grow a little bit every day by building positive daily habits and sticking to them. The stronger you grow and become, the better your life will feel in the long run.

4. Patience does not mean waiting and doing nothing.

Patience involves productive activity. It means doing your very best with the resources available to you, while understanding that the results you seek are worth the required time and effort, and not available elsewhere for any less time and effort.

Patience is the realization that the quality of your life in the long run is much more significant than the quantity of things you fill it with today. Patience is your willingness to accept and appreciate what you have right now, while you gradually work hard for the dreams and goals that matter most to you.

5. Most of us don’t need to buy anything more to be happy.

Intuitively, you already know that the best stuff in life isn’t stuff at all, and that relationships, experiences, and meaningful work are the staples of a happy life. Yet you live in a consumer driven society where your mind is incessantly subjected to clever advertising ploys that drive you, against your better judgment, to buy material goods you don’t need or even want.

And at a certain point, the excessive material objects you buy end up hurting the emotional needs advertisers would like you to believe they are meant to support. So next time you’re getting ready to make an impulsive purchase, ask yourself if this thing is really better than the things you already have. Or have you been momentarily tricked into believing that you’re dissatisfied with what you already have?

6. You aren’t perfect, and neither is anyone else.

All humans are imperfect. We make mistakes, we lose our tempers, and we get caught off guard. We stumble, we slip, and we spin out of control sometimes. Yes, sometimes the confident lose confidence, the patient misplace their patience, the generous act selfish, and the knowledgeable second guess what they know.

But that’s honestly the worst of it — we all have our moments. Most of the time we are remarkable! So stand beside the people you love through their trying times of imperfection, and offer yourself the same courtesy; if you aren’t willing to, you don’t deserve to be around for the remarkable moments either.

7. All the little things make a big difference in the end.

Life isn’t about a single moment of great triumph and attainment. It’s about the trials and errors that get you there — the blood, sweat, and tears — the small, inconsequential things you do every day. It all matters in the end — every step, every regret, every decision, and every little affliction.

Yes, the seemingly useless happenings add up to something. The minimum wage job you had in high school. The evenings you spent laughing and socializing with coworkers you never see anymore. The hours you spent writing down your thoughts on social media posts no one ever read. Contemplations about elaborate future plans that never came to be. All those lonely nights spent reading novels and news columns and Twitter threads and fashion tips and questioning your own principles on life and sex and religion and whether or not you’re good enough just the way you are…

All of this has strengthened you! All of this has led you to every success you’ve ever had. All of this has made you who you are today.

Truth be told, you’ve been broken down dozens of times and put yourself back together again. Think about how remarkable that is, and how far you have come. You’re not the same person you were a year ago, a month ago, or even yesterday. You’re always growing… stronger!

8. Excuses are mostly just lies.

Just because someone else can, doesn’t mean you can, right? Because you’re not good enough, or you’ve already missed your chance, or it’s just not in the cards for you. You look for reasons they can do it but you can’t…

• “Maybe he’s an internet entrepreneur and freelance writer because he has no kids.”
• “Maybe she’s way fitter than I am because she doesn’t have all the work and family obligations I have, or has a more supportive spouse, or doesn’t have bad knees.”

OK fine, it’s easy to find excuses: but look at all the other people who also have considerable obstacles and have done it anyway. Angel and I have a family, and have coped with significant loss in our lives, and still managed to make meaningful progress in our lives. And just as we’ve turned things around for ourselves, we know hundreds of other people who’ve done the same. Through 15 years of work with our coaching clients and live event attendees, we’ve witnessed people reinventing themselves at all ages — 48-year olds starting healthy families, 57-year-olds graduating from college for the first time, 71-year-olds starting successful businesses, and so forth. And stories abound of people with disabilities or illnesses who overcame their obstacles to achieve incredible outcomes.

No one else can succeed for you on your behalf. The life you live is the life you build for yourself. There are so many possibilities to choose from, and so many opportunities for you to bridge the gap between where you are and where you want to be. NOW is the moment to actually step forward!

Antiqu’e Ampomah’s Double EP Release: A Powerful Journey Through Adversity

Antiqu’e Ampomah, a talented artist, is celebrating the release of her latest EPs, As Strange as It Seems and Could Be Worse! Both projects offer a powerful exploration of love, loss, and personal endurance through adverse experiences, expressed through a distinct blend of Alt Soul—a fusion of Jazz, Hip Hop, Melancholy Folk, Indie Pop—and Voetry.

‘As Strange as It Seems’ is a 17-minute EP born out of Ampomah's confrontation with her mortality during the gruelling treatment of ABVD chemotherapy and the anxiety-laden lockdown of 2021. This EP delves into adverse childhood experiences (ACEs), identity, and the emotional landscape of growing up in South London.

Could Be Worse! is a 34-minute EP that serves as a testament to the healing power of artistic expression. The project emerged from Ampomah's trauma following the murder of her son's father and childhood sweetheart. Through this collection of songs, Ampomah processes complex emotions and experiences, embracing vulnerability and authenticity to encourage listeners to find their voice and solace in adversity. The creation of this EP aided Ampomah's healing journey during a further eleven months of Brentuximab (Immunotherapy) and intensive ICE Chemotherapy treatment from 2021 to 2022.
